Generally a very good hotel....

Liked: Great location, lift, pleasant restaurant and bar, good breakfast. (Very good breakfast staff) Friendly attentive room staff, excellent check in receptionist. Comfortable room.
Disliked: I was given wrong breakfast times for the day we left. (2nd January) This meant that as we were catching the morning ferry we could not have the full breakfast that was promised in writing. A pre ordered continental one was available. The evening receptionist told me the night before that this kind of error was to be expected. She had to be asked for an apology. When I emailed a few days later, the hotel staff did apologise by return. The bathroom wash basin had a long hairline crack and was a little loose. I understand this has been on the hotels to do list for a quiet period.

Break time in Empress Hotel

Liked: I have chosen this location for many times and many years. Really enjoyed my time in this hotel ,is friendly and the location is great
