Liked: Great room, comfortable lounge to enjoy cocktails, great breakfast.

It is a lovely hotel...

Liked: Hotel decor in room and communal areas was beautiful and in keeping with the historic times.
Disliked: Buffet breakfast was disappointing as all food was consistently only lukewarm warm or cold on each of 3 days.Cocktail lounge not suitable to have drinks as only 2 tables available to sit down, and therefore guests are told to sit in the library or lounge areas which are both very quiet and more like waiting rooms with no atmosphere.Superior double room is very dark and only has a shower in the bath.

Disliked: I was staying at the hotel with my husband to attend my father’s funeral. Unfortunately my husband was hospitalised and I had to stay alone. I explained this when calling the property before I stayed and when I arrived but there was no offer to adjust my booking or compassion

Liked: Dinner was delicious (venison) with wonderful service!
Disliked: EV charging facilities (even just an outside 3-pin socket) would have been amazing!Perhaps you don't realise that EVs can use normal domestic supply and parked overnight can get a useful low-voltage top-up charge?Maybe just have a few sockets for the row of cars nearest the hotel?
