Perfect for my needs and...

Liked: Location, great pub, good food, decent rooms for the price.
Disliked: Nothing really. I stay at some of the best hotels in the world but this had everything I needed and was great value, food was excellent.

Liked: The location was perfect and in such a beautiful area. The staff were fantastic and the room was very comfortable with lots of space.

Disliked: The Crown and Greyhound says it is dog friendly on booking.com. I didn't realise that the hotel wasn't, the pub is. When you book with Booking.com you get so many messages about the booking, very often repeated, and so I've learnt to screen out the noise.In the morning we were surprised to find out that the dog shouldn't have stayed. Only then did I see the 2 messages on the app. The property had my phone number and could have called. Furthermore we were checked in by a member of staff who said nothing about the dog.The cleaner and a manager were very hostile and heavy handed. It was extremely upsetting as this was an honest mistake. I am very respectful of rules and other people's property but the approach of the 2 staff both on at me at the same time was very inappropriate and aggressive. We were definitely made very unwelcome.In addition they had plenty of opportunity to speak with me about the problem and i would not have had a £50 fine slapped on me, but no one did...and we had another solution...for the 2nd night the dog stayed with family nearby. So this could have occurred on the first night and then the £50 for the deep clean would have been avoided. Why not speak to me like a human being? Instead £50 was taken from my card without warning and without my permission.Moreover he is a small dog and we had brought 2 rugs with him, on which he was quietly sleeping during his stay. He is an elderly dog and no trouble. There was certainly no need for extra cleaning.There was also a lack of flexibility in the 2 staff members...I wanted to have a return of the 2nd night's fee if we couldn't stay since this was a misunderstanding. There was a rude and forthright No that won't be happening. It was suggested we could get a Travellodge in Peckham.Then the cleaner who had started all this tried to make her way into the room to pet the dog! I had to ask her to leave.So all in all it was incredibly badly managed and very upsetting.

Lovely place to stay

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a good size and we especially appreciated the windows which shut out the noise from the road outside. The food in the pub downstairs was delicious and the overall atmosphere was lovely.
Disliked: There's no overhead light above the bed. Probably for the best but one half of the room is a little too dim. Could also benefit from an iron in the room for guests.
