Disappointing hotel stay

Liked: The beds were comfortable and the location was excellent.
Disliked: The room lighting was poor, the water didn't drain well from the shower and sink and we were not given the room type we had reserved, confirmed and paid for.

Disliked: Staff were slightly on the rude side. We arrived at hotel and waited a good 10 minutes until someone appeared at the front desk to check us in. I had booked a King size room and upon arrival was told the room was only a request and they didn’t have one available. They put us in a double queen which was fine, but I’ve never heard of a room being a “request only”. Room was dark and musty smelling. Looked rather run down or it could use a little touch up. The door did not close properly unless we banged it shut or pulled hard on it. Given a room over looking garbage so at 4am got woken up by the truck beeping and banging garbage bins. For a 4 or 5 star boutique property, I expected way more especially for the price. Very disappointed.

Disliked: There was no shampoo and no shower gel, we found an eyelash extension from a previous guest... We asked the staff at 11am at the first day to fix it. They said they will. They didn't. There is the monorail which makes the whole room vibrate... The interior is very old and you see it. The only good part were the beds, which were nice. The Cromwell is in my opinion atmost a 2 star hotel.

Liked: The bed was great, and the dual shower head was nice as well. The pillows were the type most hotel and resorts use now, which mean you're wearing ear muffs before morning. Not a fan.
Disliked: The room lighting is horrible. No light at the bureau under the TV. No light by the armoire, which is probably why someone's black sports bra was never seen. Toilets are kid height which I'm also not a fan of. When resort fees started they included thinthings like a daily paper, bottles of water etc. and now they're just an extra charge to line the pockets, and in this case that cost was nearly half the daily charge for the room. Cost of everything on the strip is excessive. This just feels like you're being robbed!
