Superb

Liked: The pub and accommodation are of a very high standard. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The room we had in the Lodge was spacious, comfortable and clean and we slept reasonably well. We were slightly disappointed at the size of the fish and steak and ale pie but otherwise it was very tasty, as was the sticky toffee pudding. The breakfast was exceptional I have to say, with very good quality bacon and sausage. The size of the breakfast is enough to fuel you for most of the day.

Beautiful rooms and exceptional food...

Liked: Super friendly staff. I booked last minute and arrived quite late, about 7.30pm. They managed to find me a dinner table despite being totally full and turning people away. Room was lovely, exceptionally clean and modern and so cosy. Really wanted to stay another night, but this was just a stop over en route further south. The rooms are in external buildings which are quite newly built at the back of the inn and there were some really nice touches like umbrellas to use, adaptor plugs and cables for all types of phones and plugs if you didn't have UK ones. Loads of storage space in the room too - just lovely! The breakfast has to be the best I've ever had in a B&B - proper full English sourced locally. It's worth having dinner here too as mine was so delicious - I had the sausage and mash and it was devine. I'd come back here again just for the food as well! Great atmosphere in the bar and a real find. I would make a detour to stop over here again if I'm back this way!
Disliked: Can't fault it!
