A Dream come TRUE!

Liked: EVERYTHING! This was my third over-all visit and my second time in the "Queens room! The room is wonderful, ESPECIALLY the delicious claw-foot tub in the middle. The bed is comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is great. Because the room is away from the pub, it was wonderfully quiet, with a lovely view. Breakfast came with the room and was yummy AND filling. The staff this time went above and beyond. Falkland and the various stores in the area are just lovely.
Disliked: It was a little pricey for the time of year, but I had such a great time, I didn't care!

A must for fans of...

Liked: Stayed in the Outlander room. Its not the one used in the series in case you were wondering, but of course the Covenanter itself does feature in episode 1 of the first series.For fans of the series, (like us), its really nice to go to Falkland and place yourself in the location of the filming. The village itself is lovely, and very quiet.Declan, who was working in the pub that night, was a very chatty great guy, who introduce us to a few of the whiskies on the shelf. I ended up ordering one of them the next day..
Disliked: Unfortunately, we arrived on Sunday afternoon, only to find out that no food was served that evening which was disappointing.. We had to make do with some bread and cheese from the local shop because this was the only place. I believe they do serve food every other night though, and the menu did look nice.

a beautifully situated place, but...

Liked: a cult place for fans of the Outlander series. and that's it really. wasted potential
Disliked: many things are wrong here. very poor breakfast, room small and a bit neglected, at night the staff turns off the heating!
