Located in the center of picturesque Napier this luxurious 5-star hotel is located in the center of the Art Deco Precinct. Originally built for the Hawke's Bay County Council in 1909 The County Hotel is one of only two significant buildings to have survived the massive 1931 earthquake. The hotel presents a charming Edwardian Art Deco grandeur preserving its elegant heritage. Rooms at the County Hotel are elegantly designed and offer antique furnishings. They each include a TV with satellite and Netflix channels air conditioning a work desk and tea/coffee making facilities. Dine in the multi award winning Wine Street Restaurant or enjoy a drink in the quaint Churchill's Champagne & Cozy Bar with a superb selection of wine single malt whiskey cocktails and of course champagne. Dine in multi award winning Churchills Lounge Bar & Restaurant open Thursday to Saturday from 5pm. Enjoy a drink from our extensive beverage selection and sample plates from our delicious à la carte menu. Please make a reservation should you wish to dine with us to avoid disappointment. The County Hotel is near many local attractions including the Cape Kidnappers International golf course Ocean Spa Pools and the famous Hawke's Bay Vineyards.

Art Deco Gem.

Liked: Amazing Art Deco period decor. Very original and true to it's era. Well positioned for walking to the locals shops and cafes and beach.
Disliked: The shower door was difficult to close, and the bed was a bit too soft.

A beautiful old building with...

Liked: Central location, beautiful old building with wonderful decor.
Disliked: Bed was a little soft but really not an issue in the big scheme of things.

Nice but would try others.

Liked: It’s location. Quaint . Huge room
Disliked: It claimed to have ocean room. It certainly does not.Furnishings, though quaint, are old and not really luxurious. No breakfast offered.

Exceptional

Liked: Beautiful historic hotel. There were some gorgeous period features, and some beautiful attention to detail in the furnishings and decor. Beautiful and spacious room. Truely exceptional and memorable stay. Staff and management were amazing.
Disliked: Nothing, you can't improve on perfection.!!

Lovely weekend stay in Napier....

Liked: The decor was lovely . The bed was great. It was a bit noisy at night. The restaurant food was average
Disliked: The food in the restaurant was not up to the standard I expected
