A very comfortable and pleasurable...

Liked: It is an old hotel that has been sympathetically modernised. The owner/manager is very personable and makes the guests feel very welcome. Nothing is too much for her to help make the stay more pleasurable. The rooms were comfortable anfd very clean and there is absolutely nothing that I could fault with the accomodation or service.
Disliked: How can you improve on the best?

Liked: Great vintage property, updated with modern conveniences. Angela is an incredible host!

It was homely and comfortable....

Liked: There was no breakfast on offer.
Disliked: The frig woke me up every couple of hours crackling and popping during the night. I had to boil the water jug on the floor - there was no power point at bench height. The bathroom basin blocked up every time I used it.

Very good

Liked: Lovely retro feel to the hotel - complete with complimentary port in the library. Well located in the centre of Napier and very helpful, welcoming staff.
Disliked: The bar and library would benefit from softer lighting.
