Passable
Liked: Facilities and dog friendly / lovely scenery
Disliked: Rooms are small and need upgrading. Bedding was really uncomfortable/ hard and duvet felt like a camping mattress

Don’t go there.
Liked: The website images The receptionist
Disliked: The food was dismal absolutely disappointing £18 for 1 sausage and a dollop of mash with dried onions sprinkled on top and watery gravy. Then £17 for a bowl of lettuce leaves with a boxed breaded chicken breast stuck on top which I sent back and refused to pay for. The young girl who was serving our meal was stroppy , fresh out of school into a suit jacket acting like she knew better. Me and my husband found the whole experience uncomfortable. The bar is advertised as open at 3pm the staff didn’t open it until 4:30pm so we then had to wait while they got ice and lit the fire and hoovered the restaurant it was an experience we won’t be repeating.

A good stay, marred by...
Liked: Beautiful location. Excellent clay ground. Really good food. Staff were super.
Disliked: Room a little dated, but clean and comfortable. There was a Hunt Ball on the Saturday night. Ball attendees did not care about making noise during the night (woke up several times) but hotel did apologise.

Very good
Liked: Nice peaceful location and had a room over looking the lake. The balcony was a nice touch too, although we didn’t sit out on it as it was February and cold.
