Perfect stopover in beautiful location

Liked: Super location and great reception on arrival. Perfect stopover for us on the way to the North of Scotland. Super friendly and great evening meal with some local beer. Couldn't be better

Good stop over, spacious room.

Liked: Location to the vet school and surrounding areas. Breakfast was nice.
Disliked: Food in the hotel far too expensive for what it is. Drinks also very expensive. This is pub food but paying more than anywhere else locally. Disappointing as we would have had more drinks and ate at the hotel if prices were sensible. Room was very warm. Room wasn't serviced during our 2 night stay

Liked: Great location as we had family who live in the Village. Staff fantastic. Amazing full English breakfast and pancakes.

Disliked: The bed in our room was way to soft, had no support whats so ever,came away with a bad back.

OK place for a stop-off...

Liked: Great breakfast. Shower was brilliant. Plentiful parking.
Disliked: Room was a little noisy from the road but it didn't interrupt our sleep. Overall experience was marred by the evening meal. I don’t know why chefs feel the need to add so much salt to their cooking. The massaman curry used all of the authentic ingredients and would have been fantastic apart from the excessive amount of salt, which was all I could taste half way through the dish. Needless to say, I left the rest. I did tell the young waiter about it and he said he would let the chef know. And that was that, I heard no more. I haven't included this annoyance in my rating because, as a B&B option, this was perfectly OK, which is what I paid for through Booking.com. I chose to eat there because the menu looked great.

Liked: Beds were comfortable, breakfast was good.
Disliked: Noise from ventilation at rear of hotel is very loud so sleep was broken at best, wifi not working in bedroom area, food stops at 8pm and bar was closed by 9.30 which is a little bit early. Sort the noise issue and this would be a good stay.
