Liked: The option of Marmite sealed the deal for me. Also, the massive cafetière of Argyll Roasters coffee was exceptional. Usually, for something this size the coffee is weak and dreadful but I’m pleased to share that it was thick and strong.

Liked: It's a really special place. From the moment we walked in it was clear that there was a carefully considered and cultivated atmosphere - the staff were warm and friendly and the ambience was beautifully curated. The food (dinner and breakfast) was outstanding and sophisticated without losing connection to the location or being overly experimental. Just really thoughtful and tasty food. The staff were also really friendly, we ended up chatting with the owner at the bar after our meal and enjoyed being amongst the locals in the pub too! The rooms are really comfortable and well stocked. It came with all the facilities you need for a comfortable and generous stay, and it was clean. Homemade shortbread was a welcome touch too!
