Exceptional
Liked: Lovely clean and cosy hotel right in the centre of York. The hotel has a car park which is £18 a night.Great bar and restaurant area (the pizzas are delicious) Room has tea, coffee and galaxy hot chocolate station with kitkats!!Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. Also the staff are really friendly. Thanks for a great stay.

Great location with parking. Ideal...
Liked: Lovely hotel, opulent room decor and spacious with great views. Could see the Minster from our hotel room window. Comfy bed. Lovely and clean en-suite and a free standing bath in the hotel room. Included bath robes. Great location only 5-10 minutes walk away from the Minster. Parking available at the hotel (extra).
Disliked: Although the shower was spacious and clean the temperature control wasn’t working properly and couldn’t use it prior to check out.

Expensive, noisy room, creepy. Staff...
Liked: Staff were very pleasant. Looked after my bag before check in and took it to my room whilst I was out.
Disliked: There was a constant noise above my room, like someone was turning in a hoover for 15 seconds every few minutes. This carried on throughout the night. Am I was trying to adjust from jet lag and it was the worst. The shower temperature was tepid. I was up early (see above) and even around 6am there didn’t seem to be enough water. The interior is just weird. I know it’s called The Churchill, but do you need to see an old dead bloke on every square inch of wall space. I appreciate his historical significance but, we get it already. No mention that he was also a massive racist. Room was pokey for the price. I went on to have a few nights in the Hilton at over half the price, bigger rooms, same quality and no gaudy igloo things on the front lawn. If this gets a response, let me just counter a usual boiler plate answer, I didn’t inform reception about the noise because I was so jet lagged I really didn’t want to speak to anyone.
