Liked: Great location. Very comfortable and a great breakfast.Useful having a bar and a nice choice in bar snacks.Ate in the restaurant, excellent food.The staff were all great, from reception, cleaners and restaurant and bar staff.The pods in the garden look great too.Have already recommended staying at the Churchill Hotel to a number of friends.

Liked: Lovely beer garden - didn’t get chance to try the pizzas but loved the set up there

Liked: Second visit to the Churchhill and it was fab. No too big and able to accommodate four friends in one room. Extremely comfortable and clean. Location is excellent.

Disliked: Shower was cold for 2 nights. Room was small for the price paid. P

Great decor, pricey extras

Liked: Good location, stunning decoration, very helpful staff
Disliked: Parking was £18 per night! Rooms were already pricey and this additional extra alongside additional £18 pp extra for breakfast seemed a lot.

Excellent military and Royal history....

Liked: Everything. This was our first trip to York. The location, around 10 minutes from York centre and walking distance from train station - ideal. The hotel, superb. The decoration throughout was amazing. Pictures on the website do not do it justice. The history of the hotel as well, how it became to be called The Churchill. All the staff couldn't do enough for you - very attentive, happy. Nothing was too much trouble. The attention to detail within the hotel and its staff - should be a 5 star. My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel and we didn't want to leave. We will be back and we will be staying at The Churchill (provided they have room for us). Thank you everyone.
Disliked: Nothing not to like. If anything, we wished we could have had a longer stay. There was still a lot for us to try at the hotel. We missed enjoying a meal in the pods in the garden - too busy exploring York.
