Great location, excellent staff, but...

Liked: The staff were amazing and basically saved our stay. We stayed over Christmas, so the hotel was absolutely jam packed. We waited 40 minutes when we arrived to just valet our car because they were understaffed. However, the front desk upgraded us for the inconvenience and were quite polite. The location is phenomenal in central Charleston and can't be beat. We took the hotel bikes as well, which was a great amenity.
Disliked: The room walls are extremely thin. So, you hear EVERYTHING next door and in the hallway. We stayed on the 7th floor. Also, for two people, breakfast cost c. $100 which is a bit excessive for two omelets and two cappuccinos. I think the holiday time is a bit hectic for the hotel, and it showed the holes in their operations from the stress. For the money we paid, I just don't think the value was there at all.

A wonderful stopover and great...

Liked: The concierge (Margo?) was terrific, she set us up for a wonderful dinner, incuding our dog. and close by after a late-ish arrival. All of the staff were professional. helpful and upbeat.
Disliked: "Parking on site" is not accurate. parking garage is not connected, either physically or operationally, to the hotel. We were were charged double the posted parking rate as 'per day' rather than an overnight parking arrangement.

Disliked: Air conditioning was kept on in the 8th floor club, no matter how much I asked for heat.

Perfect winter getaway

Liked: We absolutely loved everything! The hotel is gorgeous the location is perfect and the shops can’t be beat. 115 live Christmas trees and decorations all over really helped get us in the Christmas spirit. We both said it needs to be a tradition!
