Really enjoyed would definitely stay...

Liked: The room was perfect, the staff were fantastic
Disliked: The food choose and menu take things off the menu if they are not available don’t let people study it and then come back 5 minutes later after we have ordered telling us so sorry that’s not available either, it gets quite frustrating

unprofessional

Liked: atmosphere was friendly as always..we have been here many times
Disliked: we were booked to eat at 6.both being insulin dependent we had medication etc just before going down..we were informed on arrival at restaurant food was probably not going to be served as there was only 1 bar staff..we saw however 3 chefs..at this point we had to make alternative arrangements as I was close to a medical emergency having had insulin and not eaten and my girlfriend was also in a dangerous position..if we had been made aware of catering issues on arrival we could have made more fitting arrangements to eat..as it was this was extremely dangerous for us...the staff on site were trying to help but in my opinion 1 of the chefs should have been able to table serve or improvise...we have been the castle many times over time but never come across this lack of standards..nobody seemed able to make a decision and at one time they were going to close the pub..we ended up going to another pub as it would have been dangerous for us to wait longer..the intention was to eat at the castle where we stayed..not have to go out in the cold and certainly not to be worrying if we would be in medical emergency

Disappointing, poor service and property.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Disappointing room (8), damaged tiles in shower cubicle covered by cardboard (hardly water resistant!!) and black/yellow hazard tape, TRV on radiator did not work & heating on full blast at 4am in the morning !! Poorly maintained property, both chef were ill so no evening meals were available & bar was closed. Breakfast was poor and took an age to arrive. Poached eggs were more like hard boiled eggs!!! Poor
