Excellent stopover

Liked: Very comfortable room and great breakfast . Didn’t need to eat all day!
Disliked: Quite steep stairs up to rooms, someone with mobility problems would have struggled

All fur coat and no...

Liked: Pleasant room, friendly staff.
Disliked: The handle fell off the shower and the shower was cold. Not a bit cool, I mean cold. No hot water pressure in the basin either.

Ok but fix the shower...

Liked: Nice food and comfy bed. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: I emailed the company this the day after I left because I only like to give good reviews but no response. The hotel is good and the food was ok but the shower in room 8 didn’t work and when I told the guy on reception about it he really didn’t say anything other than it was my fault for not moving the shower nozzle to the basin. Quite patronising given I’m an engineer (he was wrong) and you should really just fix this old shower if you charge £100 a night. Also, trying to charge nearly five pounds to serve me one drink and two courses is ridiculous. I review regularly on Booking.com/Trip Advisor but ONLY give 5 stars to top quality venues.

Was OK for one night...

Liked: Bed was comfortable but be nice to have comfy chairs to sit on.. Bathroom good size, nice towels, toiletries excellent. Showerhead needed deepclean, toilet roll holder fell off wall when trying to use toilet paper, sealing around one part of bath was missing. Chrome fitments were water stained.
Disliked: 7 of us had an evening meal in restaurant but when menus given to us weren't told that marmalade ham option was no longer available which 2 people wanted plus after ordering 3 pork belly meals were told 5 minutes later only enough fondant potatoes for 2 so l person had to choose different meal. On the 4 portions of Sticky Toffee pudding they were different sizes with a lack of Toffee syrup on 2 of the portions. Only 2 flavours of Ice cream available although menu said you could choose from 3 different flavours & we had nearly finished our puddings when the ice cream was brought out. Had to wait for pint of Guiness as no clean glass.
