This hotel reminds you of Fawlty Towers. It's very dated. Unfortunately our stay was not the most comfortable as there were springs sticking up in the bed. Luckily with the warm temperatures we were OK sleeping on top of the duvets. The rooms have everything you need. Tea/coffee, towels, soap etc however there were several cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and above the doors. On arrival we asked about the food service and were told the restaurant opened at 6.30pm. We were never told that you had to order your evening meal at breakfast time (not quite sure how this works if check in is at 2pm); needless to say we did not have an evening meal as we were told when asking for a menu during the day that it was "too late to order"; I only went down for breakfast on the second day, and sadly it was awful - eggs not cooked properly, bacon that had clearly been sat for a while and the toast was like rubber. It's such a shame as the staff were all really lovely and welcoming, but this hotel is outdated and my personal experience was not a good one.

Disliked: Very out dated and small. WiFi doesn't reach to the rooms. Bathroom smelt of urine.

Last minute booking - pleasantly...

Liked: The price was good and walking distance from town - about 15 min. Very basic room, but clean and comfortable. Great value with breakfast included, too.
Disliked: Staff a bit brusque at check in. A bit of small talk would go a long way. Breakfast seemed very rushed- not even sat down and wanting our order before chance to look at menu (were in plenty of time before service ended) BUT food was fine.Wrapped bar of soap in bathroom, but would prefer a liquid soap dispenser.
