Location was good, room pleasant...

Liked: The member of staff that met us was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable
Disliked: We were woken at 6.30 by someone walking heavily up and done outside our room and banging about in the storage room next to us - this went on for some time and we were unable to go back to sleep - we’d had a late night so really needed a bit of a lay in. We think it was a cleaner.

A really nice, quiet overnight...

Liked: Had several stays here going back over 7 or 8 years, so that tells it all really. Situated in a lovely quiet part of Glossop, overlooking a church and churchyard so it's pretty quiet. Staff are friendly and cheerful on arrival, and gave information about the local area. De-luxe double room was large and warm, and bed was very comfy. Shower and toilet were clean.Breakfast was served in the Queens Arms, literally a short 100m walk down from the Bulls Head. Excellent Full English Breakfast, along with cereal and gluten free alternatives should you prefer. Served by really nice staff, cheerful and chatty.
Disliked: I've stayed several times now, and each time I've left extremely satisfied after my stay. So I can honestly say that there is nothing which I dislike.

Lovely one night stay

Disliked: We had a lovely stay in the charming bedroom above the pub, which we liked very much. However, there are a couple of points we feel need addressing:1.A staff member informed us that breakfast was served at 9 am, but it was actually at 8 am. Unfortunately, this meant we missed it.2.While we appreciate that the hotel is dog-friendly (a significant factor for us), the information in the bedroom states that dogs are not allowed on furniture, and there may be a £50 charge if this rule is not followed. This policy should be made clear to guests at the time of booking to avoid any misunderstandings.Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, but these minor issues could improve the clarity and convenience for future guests.

Great stay, comfortable room, excellent...

Liked: Have stayed several times before. Each time never disappoints. Staff have always been welcoming and cheerful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I've found it to be in a quiet location during the weekdays I've stayed there. The Full English Breakfast is well cooked and presented, and is served in the Queens Arms which is a short couple of minutes walk away. I've already booked my next stay.
Disliked: Personally, I'd really like a slightly earlier weekday check-in time, but the 4pm time is just about ok.

Bad

Disliked: Stayed there with my 19-year-old son for 2 nights. The hotel is in a pretty part of Glossop, and it is unfortunate that I cannot give it a better review. The room was noisy, the walls must have been quite thin as everything going on in the pub downstairs could be clearly heard. The pub kitchen extractor fan was in a cupboard in our room and made a loud whining noise. fortunately, this was turned off around 2130 each night. The ensuite bathroom layout was such that an average sized person had to sit sideways on the toilet. The TV remote didn’t work. The staff and the manager could not fix it and the rather old TV on the wall had to be worked using the buttons on the top. It was clear that this remote had not been paired with the TV; however, we found the actual, branded TV remote under the bed when we were doing our final checks before leaving. The worst part of the stay is that we were refused breakfast on the first morning of our stay at 0910. We were told we should have been to the ‘sister’ pub which served breakfast by 0830. I asked the manager could anything be arranged (i.e. tea, toast cereal etc) in lieu of a cooked breakfast and he refused.

For me, there is nothing...

Liked: Have stayed at the Bulls Head before, and didn't hesitate to book again. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely outlook over the church. After a peaceful and restful night's sleep, we had a short walk of 100 yards to breakfast served in the Queens Arms. Another really nice pub, with a friendly, warm welcome and a good choice for breakfast. The Full English was well cooked, hot and well presented.
