OK

Liked: All staff were very pleasant and professional.
Disliked: Coffee at breakfast was not good.....filter coffee. At dinner, the restaurant had run out of many options, and also the wine we chose. The bedroom and bathroom could've been cleaned more thoroughly, i.e. the toilet. The tv remote control looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time!

Disliked: The rooms smelt damp and I think they may have had some water damage. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Very good

Liked: Room was lovely, booking in was easy. Price was good.Dinner was very good
Disliked: Breakfast in the bar area was uncomfortable! Sitting up to a table on armchairs is not the best way to eat breakfast. As breakfast was included in our tariff we were only offered a full English or a vegetarian! I would have been happy with eggs & toast. But maybe should have asked?

Nice place, reasonable food, shame...

Liked: Nice setting, chilled and relaxed atmosphere, good location for things like the NEC and train station etc.Our evening meal was enjoyable and nice food and drink.
Disliked: Unfortunately the staff were a let down, polite enough but seriously un interested in anything outside of the usual role. We asked about booking a taxi as we were going to the NEC for the day, the be told she could book us one, but it was highly likely it wouldn’t turn up and basically do it ourselves. A huge sigh, on both mornings because I asked for a latte (which I paid for) rather than filter coffee. We returned from the NEC at 11pm, we didn’t expect to be able to have a drink, but asked to buy a bag of crisps for my 7 year old, to be informed the tills were off, I asked if the crisps could be added to our room bill, again the tills are off, I mean really, could a bag of crisps for a child not be written on a tab and rang in the following morning or the £1-£2 whatever they cost, not be left on the till top to put in the next day, I mean were residents and you had my card details! I can understand if I wanted to purchase a huge amount of drinks, but a single bag of crisps! Sunday morning breakfast, we sat down at 8.30 am and then listened to the cleaner hoovering next to us (same room, next door table) and so on, for 20 minutes around us, I can appreciate cleaning needs to be done but surly the breakfast room can be left or done before/after breakfast? We come every year and usual stay down the road, but thought we try a change this year, what can I say, a smile and helpful attitude from staff, always goes a long way.
