Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast.
Disliked: The room. Room number 1 was in what appeared to have been a stable tack room at the rear of the hotel. The door bore an uncanny resemblance to one of my outhouses. The inside was dark and gloomy because the only natural light was blocked by a large bush in front of the only window although in fairness it did block the view outside which was of a brick wall with peeling white paint. The room light did nothing to lift ‘’the mood’’. Although very well decorated, it was not welcoming. The bed was not so much firm as just hard. The bathroom fan was very loud, all night and did little to dispel my waking impression of a repurposed Cold War bunker. The above not withstanding, I did enjoy the rest of the hotel and breakfast.

I’d recommend staying here.

Liked: Location to NEC, Friendly staff and good food.
Disliked: Shower screen wasn’t good enough to stop bathroom floor from getting soaked.

Liked: Great breakfast and wonderful restaurant facilities for an evening meal
Disliked: WiFi was non existent which when travelling for work is very frustrating in this day and age!Also, I needed to leave early and despite breakfast being served from 7am there was no one in the restaurant and I had to ask the cleaner to go and find someone! Also, the one ironing board and iron is kept in the office so if you need that best ask the night before as again that was a challenge to organise at 7am.

Liked: The breakfast waitress was friendly.
Disliked: We were made to wait at the bar to check in for a long time, even though the staff knew we were waiting.The rooms were very cold and very dirty. There was mould in the bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on a wooden board. Not enough lighting in the bedroom at night. The breakfast was dried up as if sitting under a hot plate for a long time.
