Lovely location, great food.

Liked: Lovely hotel, great food. The welcome was a little underwhelming and we had to wait whilst some paperwork was printed off even though we had checked in on line.
Disliked: Room was very dark. All walls and ceiling were dark blue and it was a little depressing!Heating wasn’t working on arrival and we had to locate a maintenance person who helped us.

Disliked: A bit chilly at bedtime.

Good value pub accommodation with...

Liked: Spacious room in main pub building with large comfortable bed. Breakfast in pub dining room with pleasant service and good food.
Disliked: It’s a personal thing but I detest being greeted with “what’s the name?” Many hotels, this included, could take more time to train staff to say, “hello, you are very welcome, please may I ask/ take your name?”

Liked: Meals very good, ambiance generally good apart from the issues with my room.
Disliked: Clear evidence of damp/mold on the walls of my bedroom. Room was too far from entrance to bother to go back to complain.

Disliked: The room above us was very noisey. You can hear everything and it started very early in the morning.

Stunning location and stunning hotel....

Liked: The property was absolutely stunning! Such a cosy and homely feel to it. We sat by the fireplace to warm up after a walk and loved it. The restaurant onsite was also amazing!
Disliked: We stayed right in a room above the bar so we could hear some noise when we were going to bed. However, this would not stop us from staying again! If you have babies like we did or are light sleepers maybe just ask for a room not above the bar area!
