Locked out

Liked: Service was quick when booking in
Disliked: When I returned I was locked out. I knocked and rang the doorbell, but noone answered. Then I called the phone a d noone answered. After 30 mins I looked around the building, and by luck, a back door was a jar, so I coukd get in. Staff should be available at hotels 24/7.The back door being open and unsupervised raises safety concerns for guests.

Nice character hotel

Liked: The building had loads of character and very good room and staff. Set me a table for breakfast in the bar area so my dog could join me. Breakfast was very good with quality ingredients.
Disliked: When I stayed the restaurant and bar were closed which was difficult for me as the hotel is in a small village with not much else.

Good food, ideal location but...

Liked: the receptionist was very friendly, as were the staff in the resturant in the evening. Good food, plenty of parking.
Disliked: room was tired looking, very brightly lit dining room made it feel cold when it was a character room, breakfast waiting staff no where near as friendly as evening staff.

Relaxing and comfortable break

Liked: The decoration and maintenance have been kept up to scratch,Very comfortable bed and lovely big bedroom.Very friendly and helpful staff. Our dog even had a sausage for breakfastPosition of the hotel is right in the centre of the village, which is also charming. Loved the geese wandering around.Good food freshly cooked
Disliked: Nothing really. The hotel itself could do with a refurbishment to bring it back to its former glory but having said that,we were very comfortable there
