Fabulous hotel, loved the art,...

Liked: Lovely, I had it delivered to my room one morning, which was fabulous! Then went down to dining roomanother morning.
Disliked: Some staff were brillant, a few were pretentious, as were some of the guests? Other guests were fantastic.Scottish Govt. use this hotel, a total surprise to me, but this then meant Library and another dining/function room was occupied all evening my first night. Comments made by a young member of staff, to me, regarding SNP member, shocked and insulted me, as she expected me not to know who this was?! I was very angry as I am well aware of many in Hollyrood House!Then on booking further night, I had one of the best rooms in hotel first 2 nights but then was sent downstairs to, a beautiful room tucked away at the bottom of flight of stairs near entrance of hotel but no access to outside area. Felt like I was being relegated to the servants quarters. Cleaner outside room floating around?Then another choice of room once I questioned the 1st choice, on 2nd floor looking over back of hotel not so nice, moved someone else’s bag, then was to wait for my things to be moved. On my quick return to reception , staff member had left through another door, things had already been put in place to move my luggage from 1st room?.. I said I would decide which room once I had a seat. Due to this debacle and things not quite right when trying to have and enjoy a light lunch, I then decided to check out. Unfortunately I then had to ask for some clothes not brought to reception, I had hung them up in the wardrobe..now I have lost a new pair of wide legged jeans?!

All in all a fantastic...

Liked: The hotel looks and feels very grand. We were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. Our room was beautifully decorated and all the staff we met were very polite and friendly. Our first morning we had an early excursion and didn’t have time for breakfast and the two ladies working in the breakfast room quickly arranged a small hamper of fruit and selection of pastries and coffee for us which was very nice.

The Bonham was Bangin!

Liked: The Bonham was the greatest surprise. Of all the places we stayed in London and Edinburgh, it the was the best! The decor is stunning! And the staff were over the top hospitable. I was especially fond of the long bearded gent who gave us a glowing review of the owners. He really loves his job! And who wouldn’t.

Disliked: No hot water during my stay. Could not have a hot shower.. even 1.5hrs after reporting issue
