Okay but could be good...

Liked: Friendly staff. Good location. Good food
Disliked: The rooms ( we stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 occasions in short succession) were a bit uncared for with broken light fittings, cold spots (eg the bathrooms) and variable shower pressure. The curtains were off their hooks in both rooms and cobwebs were quite visible in the second room. Internet variable

Liked: The staff were very nice (but quite unable to resolve issues). The bar in the restaurant closes at 10pm so you do not get late evening noise when people leave at closing. The room was clean and the cleaners sort your room evey morning. The restaurant is convenient and the prices reasonable. The food is good (although hot food served on cold plates does not keep the food hot for long).
Disliked: I wish I had a camera with me just to show how bad the room was. Some of the issues had more to do with the ambiance of the room, like the notices over the toilet that were skewiff, but made you feel like you are in a cheap motel. The pictures of the double rooms clearly show the beds accessible from both sides and reasonably roomy bathrooms. Our room actually had 2 singles in it, there is a picture of this room which can be identified by the fact the drawer of the wardrobe has the handle broken off so not usable. They pushed the 2 beds together to make a double but would have been better left as 2 singles as one person had to get into bed from the bottom. This might be good for young people but not pensioners! The curtains were not only poorly hung, they were thin and had stains on them. The bathroom had a bath, that was missing the overflow fitting, and the shower had very little water pressure. The toilet was shoved in between the wall and the bath leaving little room to manouver around the toilet roll holder. I have had better rooms far cheaper in season.We saw the room next door when the cleaner was in and it looked like the pictures. There were single people in this room, staying one night at a time so why they didn't put us there and the others in the room with single beds I don't know. It also looks like they were only using 3 of the 9 rooms on our floor so I feel there was no excuse for the room we were given. I begin to question how much pictures of rooms can be trusted after this trip. The pictures show all sorts of food items so it is obvious they are pushing the restaurant. I found the food good and the staff great but hot food on cold plates does not stay hot very long.It states quite plainly that the Hotel has WiFi but there was none while we were there. I was told by a member of staff that it went out when they had a storm and have no idea if it had even been looked at.
