Passable
Liked: The restaurant was really good.
Disliked: The check in staff were rude, the room decor was dated furniture uncomfortable, and the TV wasn't working great. It promised a city view and all our room looked out on was a roof and four other walls as per my picture. The parking is tricky.

Disliked: Parking not included. Parking is located to far away from hotel. Location should be ideal, but getting to the hotel, parking and manhandling luggage is a true issue.

Terrible Experience with Hotel Barrington....
Disliked: I'm highly disappointed! I booked this hotel and I arrived in Halifax earlier than expected so I called the hotel to ask if I could check in early only to be told by the front desk agent that I DO NOT have a reservation with them! I explained I went through Booking and I was told it didn't work. He, apparently, checked my name several times and told me there's no reservation but they did have a couple of rooms left at a higher rate. I was worried as the room was for my young daughter and I for a Christmas shopping trip so I immediately went back to booking and found another hotel, The Moxy, and booked it immediately. I woke up this morning and checked my online banking only to find I was charged $138 by the Barrington Hotel! I called them immediately and was told they'd look into it and no management were in and they'd call me back, etc etc.... I called several times to check on it and was eventually called back by Front Desk Supervisor Patrick Wang, who told me he'd investigated the issue and wasn't going to refund the charge because he was working yesterday and said he had no recollection of that call...even though I have the phone record of a call to the hotel at 12:38 pm for 10 minutes and 1 second, as well as explaining that I wouldn't book another hotel if I had one booked.... I questioned his reasoning and he said that he was the supervisor and since I'm not showing him respect he's releasing the call.... I called back and again he released the call....I called again twice but the calls weren't answered. I've worked in 3 hotels and I have stayed in countless hotels in several places and I dare say this is truly the worst experience I've had with the lack of customer service and the lack of responsibility. I will be calling the Hotel Manager and I certainly hope they care more for their hotel's reputation than Patrick Wang does!
