Great staff, good location

Liked: All staff were helpful, cheerful and responsive to our requests. Fridge in room was useful. Within a 10 minute walk to Central railway station and transport hub. Lots of eating options and supermarket nearby.
Disliked: The room was a poor design. Space around the bed area very cramped and no room to sit comfortably.

Great option for Central Amsterdam

Liked: We loved the location and the staff. The bathroom of the junior suite was great. Loved the water pressure and the space.
Disliked: The scrambled eggs smelled funny, but they offered hard boiled eggs that were excellent. We wished there was an outdoor space to enjoy as we were blessed with sunny days while there.

Liked: The location was good. We were able to leave our luggage after checking out so we could explore the city before our flight
Disliked: Two single beds were so narrow and soft. 2’6’m wide. UK singles are normally 3ft wide. It was like sleeping on an ironing board. Furnishings basic. Some IKEA. Ensuite bathroom had glass walls so no privacy/ sound proofing. What made it worse… the mirrored wardrobe allowed sight of the bathroom thru the mirror so everything could be seen No where to hang coats etc. one know on wall was positioned above the kettle! The bedside lights were sited so high, you had to get out of bed to turn them on and off Interiors dark and gloomy. Steep stairs ( very Dutch). Reception messy/ small/ unwelcoming. No bar Worse was the breakfast. The hotel seem to sub contract breakfast to a steak restaurant next door! As a vegetarian…. It was gross. Smelt of meat. First thing I was greeted with in the restaurant was a fridge displaying huge cuts of meat. Disgusting Breakfast quality was poor. Space was dirty and messy and badly lit. No ventilation to get rid of meat smellI will be complaining to booking.com. I have rarely had a poor experience with booking.com but this place was awful. Luckily we only had one night booked

Really kind staff but very...

Liked: Staff at reception very friendly.
Disliked: Terrible smell in the room; a nauseating gutter smell. And there was a scaffolding right in front of our room with people on a platform in front of our window. One should be warned about building works when booking so one has the chance to opt out. Bedding really uncomfortable and way below the price class of the hotel. Glass door between room and toilet which may be uncomfortable to some people.
