Lovely Weekend but could have...

Liked: We like the location and the village for it's ambiance and friendly people.
Disliked: Room was a little dated and could do with a bit of attention. Broken blinds and sink plug and wobbly toilet seat for starters.Also faces out on the exit of the pub and very noisy at closing times which impacted on our sleep. We also had dinner on our Ist night and unfortunately because of the portion sizes we couldn't finish our mains. Might be an idea to offer a small portion option,we would have liked to have dessert but were too full from the main courses.

Lovely break, but some details...

Liked: The basement room was lovely, big and comfortable. The location was great, with a fabulous view from the dining room.
Disliked: The dinner was very disappointing, given the restaurant rating (my cauliflower steak was overcooked, very oily and the coleslaw was more mayonnaise than vegetable); the hot water ran cold mid morning; some of the staff would benefit from customer service training; there was no milk for tea in the room.
