A lovely one night stay.

Liked: The Hotel is in a busy but good location. Near the bus and train station. The staff are attentive and this is easily achieved with so many staff.
Disliked: The Hotel is in need of updating and investment.

Disliked: View from room was a restricted slice of sky, very disappointing for location and price.

Comfortable, cosy, well looked after.

Liked: First of all the staff had heard that we were going for my partners birthday and they upgraded our room for us.The staff are very friendly and helpful and despite it being a very high end hotel, the staff are not stuck up or overly formal, they are just normal Edinburgh people. I loved that.
Disliked: The only improvement would have been if I had stayed longer and had time to use all the facilities.

Disliked: The room was too close to the road on the 1st floor was very noisy! The aircon unit was very old and loud so very hard to sleep with it on. The hotel could not book a restaurant for me, but I managed to book the hotel direct myself. The bed was very un comfy and the sheets where old as was the cushions.

Liked: The attention to detail was outstanding. Putting up a kids tent in the room, a Christmas stocking on the door, wrapping the phone chargers with small clips, all wonderful small touches that made one feel welcome. Service in restaurants was very good!
Disliked: The Christmas Day meal was very disappointing, especially for the price.
