Liked: Location, staff, room design
Disliked: Shower pressure is low. Doors were damaged and rubbing on the floor. One side of toilet seat bracket broken. Need to clean the roof terrace furniture.

The hotel is very nice,...

Liked: I love the location of this property, the beach was a block away, there’s lots of great eateries in walking distance of the hotel, had lots of great amenities & the staff was super friendly & nice. They always greeted us, opened doors for us & made sure we had everything we needed for check in. They provided us with cards that we could use to trade in for beach towels & the rooms came with complimentary beach chairs & umbrellas that staff would set up for you at the beach. The rooms were a great size & really spacious. We didn’t get to use the pool but it looked great & we hope to come back so we can take advantage of lounging at their pool!
Disliked: We didn’t mind it at all very much but the bathrooms were a bit small. We do believe they could be upgraded if shelves were added to the walls in the bathroom for a bit more space to put our toiletries but other than that, the rooms were great.

South Beach and Ocean Drive...

Liked: We thoroughly love the close proximity to South Beach. The location couldn’t be better. We like the rooftop lounge and seating areas. Amenities offered at the beach, chairs, umbrella, beach towels are the best available at South Beach. Staff at Estevan’s Place know how to treat its guests and customers. We love the beach and love Balfour’s location.
Disliked: We didn’t like that the property is under major renovations and repairs. Might not have stayed there if we had known about the entire third floor was renovated and the main staircase was closed to us during our stay. Our room was on the 4th Floor.

Liked: Loved that it was so close to the beach!
Disliked: There was no information about the hotel in the rooms. The staff did not offer any information about the hotel amenities. We could see the pool from our room, but we're not sure how to get there. The tv didn't work in our room. The staff did give us a different room. In that room, you could not sit on the toilet without your leg jamming into the cold, metal leg of the sink because it was so small. You are paying for the location. The shower was decent.

Bad value for money

Liked: On a positive note, the room was exceptionally clean, and both the reception and bar staff were incredibly friendly. The location is close to the beach and Ocean Drive Art Deco.
Disliked: Overall, this stay was poor value for money. At $236 per night, excluding breakfast and an additional $40 for public parking next door, it ended up being the most expensive accommodation for one night of our two-week trip through Florida and the Keys. Miami Beach mainly attracts partygoers, and many guests continued partying in their hotel rooms during our stay, causing much noise and the need for earplugs. The mattress was terrible, leaving us feeling as if we’d slept in a hammock.
