Enjoyable First Time Visit to...

Liked: The Bailey's Hotel is conveniently located steps from the Gloucester Road tube station. That made it very easy to get to anywhere around London quite easily. Check in and check out were seamless. The concierge was exceptionally knowledgeable about which stop/transfer you need to take to get you to any destination around town. The room was spacious and very quiet. We were on the 4th floor however. The bathroom had a tub which was a plus and the shower was excellent. We didn't eat breakfast in the restaurant but there are a few different options for sit down or take away food within a block. The lobby and public space is a beautiful example of Victorian splendour in fashionable South Kensington
Disliked: It would have been nice to have 2 luggage racks in the room. The cable stations were mostly unremarkable, a US news channel would have been nice (CNN or MSNBC). Bathrobes would be nice also.

Perfect location for our visit,...

Liked: Lovely hotel, first impressions were very good, the welcome at reception was first class. The room was spacious, clean with all that we needed, down to an iron and ironing board, something I rarely need but did on this occasion.
Disliked: Nothing we didn’t like but as my wife is disabled and very unsteady on her legs so not to have a bath mat to prevent her slipping whilst showering was disappointing which I mentioned on check out.

A relaxing, pleasant couple of...

Liked: Nicely designed, decorated and furnished in a traditional, Old World style. Excellent, easy access to the Underground and hop-on hop-off buses as well as to restaurants and some museums (eg Albert and Victoria), all in very easy walking distance

Exceptional

Liked: The location was superb for first timers in London! The staff was splendid…especially Gary, the concierge! He was magnificent at scoring tickets to plays and helping with train tickets, too. You just can’t beat the Baileys…we were across the street from a pub with terrific fish and chips, across the corner from the hop on hop off bus. There was plenty of shopping, too.

Excellent and pleasant hotel, avoid...

Liked: The location is excellent, across the street from a tube station, many cafes and restaurants around. The Singaporean restaurant in the hotel is excellent. The staff was ery attentive and helpful. Rooms were clean and well equipped the atmosphere is pleasant.
Disliked: Beware of the smallest room the hotel offers, called the cosy room. It is not cosy but tiny, especially for a couple. The bed is smaller than queen and is set against the wall so if you are two, one of you has to climb in from the end of the bed. No bedside commode on either side and a tiny wash basin. Might be OK for a single person but definitely not for a couple. We stayed there one inconvenient night, then upgraded for 4 more night for the classic room, which was perfect.
