A bit disappointed

Liked: Great location and the hotel is beautiful
Disliked: I had booked one night at first. However, I had to extend the stay so booked a second night. Both bookings were done via booking.com. I had called the hotel to inform them and was told that everything is ok and that the same room would be available for both nights, so i didn't have to move. Upon arrival, i was told that i had, in fact, booked one night in a better room class (it was 30 pounds more expensive). So I would have to either move after the first night, or they put me into the "lower class" room straight away, but i wouldn't get the difference in price back. This was already a bit of an annoyance as I was told something different prior to my arrival. The "lower class" room which I got had an electric fault as one ceiling light would not switch off, meaning i couldn't sleep. It took me over an hour to get someone to come in to look at it. When i got frustrated that no one was picking up the reception phone and walked down and was told that they were too busy (at 21:30). Their communication with me seemed as if they were annoyed that i was complaining. By the time a helpful member of staff was able to check the light, the maintenance personnel had left for the day. So, the only way for me to sleep was to unscrew the spotlight from the ceiling.

Lovely hotel but the power...

Liked: The hotel is located excellently, just a few steps from Gloucester Road station. This was the main reason we decided to stay at this hotel. We stayed in the deluxe double room, which was nice and spacious however the room as a whole did not receive much daylight. The bathroom was recently refurnished and very clean. Sadly, due to a bit of confusion, we did not eat breakfast at the hotel however they still took 50 GBP from our credit card. This left a bad taste in my honest opinion. Generally, the hotel is very nice and the staff are very polite however the extra charge after us leaving and constant advertising for room upgrades, late check-out fees, etc is quite off-putting.

Disliked: We have stayed at this hotel many times, standards and service have dropped since our last stay, had to queue for over 30mins in the hotel reception area waiting for a breakfast table, room was not clean, staff unattentive. very disappointed we will not return to this hotel again

Great hotel on a perfect...

Liked: Hotel is beautiful and rooms are very comfortable. The staff was extra helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, just across the street from Gloucester tube station. Tesco express, Boots, Starbucks just a few steps away. Nice neighbourhood in Zone 1. Really loved it! Will be my place to go next time I’m in London.
Disliked: Nothing.
