Disliked: The problem was we were kept awake by a loud generator noise, which kept us awake until 4 in the morning it was so loud.. we contacted reception and email reception 3 times, they said they would investigate but never came back to us.. we spoke to a lovely lady on the desk again in the morning, and said she would get someone/ manager to contact us, no one has to date 4 days later.. it’s a shame I can’t add videos to here, which would show how loud it was.. the room was 231 which had windows that aimed into a central tunnel, were the generator noise came from, so in summary if you want to sleep don’t stay here..

Liked: A lovely hotel in a good location. I raised an issue with the reception team and it was swiftly dealt with by the manager of the hotel. A most appreciated gesture and excellent customer service. A very good team of people.

Liked: Great hotel, cozy, felt very British. Would give 10 if it wasn't for some little things that bothered us.
Disliked: To get hot water, you need to leave the tap of the sink running for a good 7-10 minutes. Also, there are no slippers in a hotel where the room is carpeted and people use shoes to walk on. Slippers are a must for hyginic purposes, not as a luxury. Third. Low lighting. Dim lighting is nice and romantic but not practical. Hotels should put practicality first. There should be a central light to see clearly. When packing your staff to check out, you can easily miss things in sucb low lighting conditions.

We would like to stay...

Liked: The hotel has lots of character and was spotlessly clean including our room which was very clean and comfortable. All the staff very helpful . We enjoyed our Chinese meal in the restaurant.
Disliked: The television in the bedroom kept stopping and starting.The breakfast was disappointing. There were no trays to carry food which would have been helpful ,our table was a long way from the buffet in the bar area. The hot food was cooked earlier and barely warm and not appetising.

Liked: Very expensive for the room size & standard. The first room offered was awful - barely room for a double bed.Staff were good & professional but limited facilities for the price.Great location though
