Wedding venue more than hotel...

Liked: Fantastic location, beautiful views. Primarily a wedding venue, with very little sound isolation. We had to change room as our premium room was located above the dance floor..... And the whole room was shaking from 1400 to midnight. New room offered was much quieter, but smaller and not at the same quality level. Request room in 2nd floor it higher.I would avoid weekends if possible, and definitely felt like an uninvited guest to someone else's wedding!

Liked: At first glance the drive up to the hotel looks spectacular, greeted by a revolving door , that you struggle with a suitcase and bags Receptionist polite Room small and a small double bed , a small fridge on the floor Bed was hard and uncomfortable Food and drink grossly overpriced £5.50 for a latte and the bar prices were for the stupid

Passable

Liked: Lovely grounds, and it's a great location. We enjoyed using the tennis courts and pitch and putt. The breakfast was nice with a good choice for everyone.
Disliked: The hotel is in need of modernising. I was very disappointed with the tired old scuffed furniture in our room and the decor was very dated. The hotel looks beautiful from the ouside but inside it doesn't look or feel like a 4 star hotel. The bar prices are very expensive.

A Super 4 days and...

Liked: We stayed at one of the cottages with full access to hotel amenities. Very comfortable, also had a look at the excellent hotel museum which gives the background to why the cottages are there.A great base for visiting Pitlochry and the surrounding area.
