Good, wish the pool was...

Liked: Lobby has lots of activities, good food, nice atmosphere
Disliked: Online and even brochures at the hotel list that the pool is opened year round but it was closed. A real bummer.

What could potentially be great...

Liked: Modern style and some great amenities, clean, I loved the lobby with free pool game and silver ball pinball machine, well stocked bar, lovely seating … potentially a repeat favorite of mine as I come to town a few times a year …. BUT …
Disliked: Although I really wanted to like it at first contact, the negatives started to appear …No parking nor discount on parking, just pricy valet. There was some sort of hydraulic pump intermittently pounding in the stairwell outside my room. Annoying to say the least. But I fell asleep eventually. I was woken up bright and early the next day to construction of a large building next door. Now I’m tired and cranky and haven’t had much sleep. Let’s get some coffee. I was told no coffee in the room, but it was available 24 hours a day in the fabulous lobby I walked into the night before. So I went down, and was promptly charged $4. Yes, you read that right.I was told the bar was open till 11, but at 10:31, they said it was closed because the bartender had called last call at 10:30. I’ve worked in the bar / restaurant / hospitality business most of my life. That’s NOT how that works. ESPECIALLY in a hotel setting. Except for a small percentage of staff, the rest mostly came off as pretentious and couldn’t be bothered. OH … and I got food poisoning at the Asbury diner, with absolutely horrendous service, & disgusting food. I ended up in bed on the last day & 1/2, missing out on several pre-paid , non refundable events I was in town for. Yeah, not a good time. I really had high hopes for it when I walked into the lovely space, but my hopes dwindled into a puddle of disappointment.

Great dog friendly hotel in...

Liked: We loved this dog friendly hotel. The staff is super nice and the hotel lobby beautiful. The location is super convenient and the rooms are comfortable.
Disliked: The hotel was very noisy during our stay due to several weddings taking place that weekend. People were talking loudly in the hallways and one room down had loud music until late night.
