Historic building, town centre location.

Liked: lovely historic hotel right in the centre of town, quirky rooms with comfy beds and lots of space. Stayed in a junior suite and it was like a small apartment.
Disliked: hot water is very slow to come through, but bearable and it is an old building, so forgiven.

Good location, could have been...

Liked: Location was great. Lobby was very authentic, but once got the rooms, was very plain
Disliked: Staff could have been nicer. I arrived 30 minutes early for check-in and despite my room being ready was made to feel an inconvenience .

Location its strongest selling point

Liked: Location was ideal for the purpose of the trip. The rooms were large. Staff responded to my concerns and very quickly offered me a change of room.
Disliked: They had several issues with maintenance I think. I had no plug in the bathroom sink - minor but irritating. But my original room was very cold. I also feel the public areas are tired.

Stay somewhere else

Liked: I made the reservation through Booking.com and paid at reception on arrival. We were shown to our room by the only member of staff. The room was freezing, the central heating was not working neither was the wifi. Two small electric oil filled heaters were in the middle of the room ... Totally insufficient to heat the room or bathroom which was even colder. It was -4 outside and snow fell overnight. The room was uninhabitable at these temperatures and no other rooms were warmer. We left within 30 minutes. We Checked out and asked for the money to be refunded. After several emails which have not even had the courtesy of a reply... let alone a refund... I feel I should leave this review as a warning to other prospective visitors, to check the room before making any payment.
Disliked: Very poor customer experience. Room not fit for habitation. No response to emails or communication of any kind
