The Americus is even more elegant than pictured. The staff were pleasant. The room was clean.

Liked: Clean room and not crowded.
Disliked: Rooftop bar not open.

Check in was quick and efficient; staff was friendly; valet staff were wonderful; room was perfect; will definitely stay here again.

Disliked: Could not get the safe to work in the room.

Nice old hotel; PPL Center was one block away and many restaurants and watering holes all walkable.

Liked: Lots of closets. Large suite. Liked full size fridge/freezer. Public parking garage was pretty close/convenient.
Disliked: The building is old so there was not any insulation. It felt like fast and furious - very loud car mufflers and bass/music until 1am. I didn’t sleep a wink. You can easily hear people walking on sidewalk below too (I was on 8th floor). Bring ear plugs or sound machine. Obviously, I didn’t realize this area was bad (assuming gang activity). I didn’t even see any other customers or people on the streets.. very low activity but I’m realizing it’s probably because it’s a bad area. I’m disappointed I paid as much as I did and couldn’t sleep due to the noise.The bed was super high, I struggled with that as I’m pregnant. The bed was very plush (again pregnant so I wasn’t comfortable) and the couch/chair is hard as a rock. There were only 2 remotes (for bedrooms) but we figured it out that they work for living room tv too. There was only one alarm clock in the one bedroom. There were no paper towels in kitchen, that would have been helpful. I don’t like the position on the toilet paper holders, very hard to reach. I had to keep helping my daughter. She also couldn’t reach the bathroom sink faucet knob (she’s 6) so i think the vanity is too high. Water did not get very hot. Tubs were super loud while draining. I also felt like there was construction going on super late on the floor above, there was weird continuous banging noises like hammering.

Disliked: Heat in the room, there’s was no way to adjust the heat or a clean bathroom maybe, hair left in the bathtub and the sink didn’t drain

Liked: It’s a beautiful hotel, and still kept very clean. Most everything about the stay was lovely. Front desk staff were very helpful and kind.
Disliked: The restaurant in the hotel was… a lot. Between a skeleton crew service, a jittery waiter, the fishiest tasting and most rubbery lobster ravioli for $42.00, we were unimpressed. For that price, even in PA, I expect some good ravioli. They tried their best but high pricing on your menu should reflect a certain level of food service that just wasn’t there, from front or back of house.
