Gorgeous hotel, but staff was...

Liked: Rooms are large, comfortable, and beautiful. Bathroom was as nice of a bathroom as I have experienced in any hotel including Ritz’s. If you want to stay in the tourist centered part of Polanco (and not the business end) the location is perfect—just a half block from Parque Lincoln and a comfortable walk to the Anthropology Museum.
Disliked: The service simply is not up to par. My wife got food poisoning early in our trip (to be clear not the hotel restaurant’s fault!). I stocked her with supplies and she asked me to go out for the day. When I returned, I learned she asked the front desk for additional bottles of water—and after telling them that it wasn’t something she needed immediately but would like them in 1 hour, they countered with telling her they would come in two hours (which indeed was the time it took for them to come). For a small hotel with a seemingly ample staff, I found this quite shocking and nothing like the experience I would get from a Holiday Inn Express—never mind a spot that claims to provide “Refinement in Hospitality.”Also—The rooms are all located along a single staircase going right down to the lobby. Which means that if there’s noise in the lobby you are hearing it in your room. Fortunately, the lobby bar/scene is very tranquil and wraps up early, but you have an early alarm clock in the morning if you are anything of a light sleeper.

Liked: Fruit and accompaniments were good. Coffee and it options for included breakfast could be improved. Eggs Benedict were very good, wish that was included in breakfast meal.Location was terrific!All hotel staff was above and beyond!
