Second visit to the hotel...

Liked: Elegant, small luxury hotel with lovely and helpful staff
Disliked: Nothing

Exceptional

Good

Liked: The location was great. Near the underground and bus stops. Also close to great food outlets. The room was comfortable.
Disliked: The shower was in the bath tube and very cramped and cumbersome and very slippery. At check out, we were informed of a 5% service charge and when we questioned what the service charge was for, we were informed it was optional and would be given to the staff. This made for awkward and surprising extra cost at check out.

Liked: breakfast was wonderful, the hotel staff was very attentive and kind, hotel and room itself very nice and wonderfully decorated, location perfect for a weekend away
Disliked: we were surprised that we could hear the noise from the Tube running in the early morning and late at night

Perfect but!

Liked: It was a perfect stay, with helpful staff, and a cozy place. I paid 800 pounds as an insurance amount as per the hotel's request, but until now they haven't returned it to my account! 2 weeks passed from checkout

Disappointing

Liked: Nice bathroom
Disliked: Breakfast didn't arrive after waiting 45 minutes we were offered one plate of the wrong meal, complete confusion and chaos and no information from the staff. Terrible service

Superb

Excellent staff and service.

Liked: The staff and service were excellent. Jack, the house manager was particularly friendly and attentive. The breakfast was excellent and servers accommodating and friendly. The shared areas - lounges etc were clean and comfortable. The location was also excellent for our purposes.
Disliked: I’m conflicted when describing the cleanliness of the bedroom. The general cleaners were great - bathrooms and bedroom surfaces were spotless. However, the bedroom carpet was stained and the sofa was torn and stained. This was very disappointing given the cost and star rating of the hotel. I also missed the slip on slippers!
