Good

Disliked: Because our room was "upgraded" on check-in, the correct room number was not on the breakfast list and the waitress did not deal with this in a professional manner. She phoned down to Reception to check that we were actually residents, even though our name was on the list and as we explained, under another room number - she just couldn't be bothered to look.. She was in no way discreet and when it was confirmed that we were indeed residents, she was in no way polite or apologetic - her manner was atrocious. Added to which, the entire breakfast experience is not something one would "break in" for. Standards in every respect are low - no milk or teaspoons on the table, no plates for the bread/toast, one hot bain-marie was empty and one had two wilted and wet hash browns. The drinking water tastes of bleach - poor quality tap water. You have to get everything yourself - even the tea and coffee is self-service. It all smacks of staff reductions - which is absolutely fine if you are providing the same level of service to customers who are paying the same amount of money. The "upgraded" room was average - nothing more than we were expecting. It's selling point was the balcony - which was the length of my foot, it could literally be measured in inches and certainly not worth mentioning as a feature. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, we had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent- both the food and the service. However, as above, major improvements required in the breakfast room standards.

Perfect for us to stay...

Liked: Room was a nice size with plenty of lighting. Staff very friendly. Nice restaurant and bar in lobby with great food. Could control temperature in room easily.
Disliked: Light switches were confusing and fan in bathroom noisy and no way to turn off without turning off lights too. Shower was hard to step into for 80 yr old - very high. No Kleenex in room.

Good stay

Liked: Very nice hotel. The spa pool costs extra (€25 per person per day) and the seperate lounge was very small and just had tea and coffee.
