Superb
Liked: The staff, the atmosphere, the historical aspect of the house and how cozy and comfortable it was all amalgamated to make it really a lovely stay. They had really good breakfast options and everything was clean and well presented and everything was very elegant in its form.
Disliked: The only thing I would say if I was really nitpicking is that curtains would leave large gaps and it took me a little while to sort that out, but apart from that I can't think of anything I didn't like about the stay.

Ideal location to explore Bury...
Liked: The breakfast was generous and everything was cooked to order. The room was clean and tidy. It had a cupboard with various glasses and tea / coffee. You also had the ability to use a room down stairs to cook your own meals if required or bring in takeaways. It is a short walk to the centre of town so ideally located and at a good price.

Comfortable bed, good location, dated...
Liked: Breakfast and staff were excellent and a good location for visiting family. Just a little outside of the town but perfect for where we needed and easy to park etc. Bed was comfortable
Disliked: For my taste (I'm early 60s, travel a lot) just a little "too pine", it's more a guesthouse than hotel. Not really a dislike or complaint, but down to personal taste and as the accommodation wasn't cheap I like to be honest/fair with reviews for other readers. In the middle of Summer just a small cheap fan for ventilation, I had to retune the TV which was partly hanging off the wall and the shower cubicle was very cramped. However to be fair, all down to my taste and this is an old 'heritage' building so genuinely nothing to really 'dislike', I was there 3 nights, for only 1 it would have got a higher score.

Overnight stop on the way...
Liked: A nice friendly greeting from staff as we walked in, a little chat about the local area, did we know anything about the town, points of interest etc.Quirky old building, books everywhere so not stuck for something to read on a longer stay.Short walk in to the town centre or a slightly longer one through the Abbey gardens to the centre.A shopping area that hasn't changed hugely from the eighties when I was stationed in the area, different shops but still bustling unlike some.Plenty of places to eat and drink. Excellent breakfast in the morning, always a good start.
Disliked: can't really think of anything

Friendly, quirky hotel
Liked: A great family hotel with quirky rooms. The room was comfy with plenty of space with a small sitting room. It was very quiet and lovely and warm on a very cold day. Great showers. The staff were very friendly
Disliked: For a large room the bed was small.
