A pleasant stay overnight in...

Liked: We arrived early and were allowed to book in then and there and leave our car in the car park. Booking in was easy and very pleasant lady made us a cup of coffee even though they weren't serving lunches on the day we arrived. Room was clean and fairly comfortable, bed comfortable, dinner in the restaurant was good, nice breakfast too
Disliked: I'm being picky here but the bathroom was a bit small and cramped. I appreciate that the hotel was quite old and traditional and wasn't built with en-suite accommodation and it wasn't a major thing as we were only staying one night

Liked: Position in Northumberland for exploring the area.The hotel had a warm old fashioned appeal with very friendly staff. The food and drink was just the ticket at the end of the day hot and tasty.
Disliked: Rooms could do with an upgrade still with 1980s style decor.
