Liked: Staff lovely, facilities good and restaurant was lovely and nice big portions
Disliked: Beds really uncomfy - the single bed in our room was all stained and no mattress topper (luckily we both shared the double) as I would not want to sleep in that, another in our party had to change rooms due to the smell of urine in their room

Lovely place needs a little...

Liked: Staff were very friendly and overall the hotel was clean and bright. The pool was lovely and warm enough for our baby. There were little fairy doors on every floor which was really cute. There were crunchies in our room on arrival which was much appreciated after a long drive! A travel cot was provided though we didn’t use it as our baby was too young for the one provided. We were also provided with a fridge which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel was close to a large shop which was convenient.
Disliked: The room did not have air con facilities, which with having a young baby, would have been convenient as the room was too hot when we arrived. There was no warning on the taps about extremely hot water (almost boiling!) and the sink was very low down. It was inconvenient that we required swim caps for the pool as we were not advised of this before arrival so had to buy them on site (which when we entered the pool, there were several people not wearing them). The mirror was damaged in the lift. There was some minor issues in our room, some separation between the wall and sink unit and the sliding wardrobe door was stuck/off the rolls when we arrived meaning I couldn’t open it but my partner fixed this. Large cobweb dangling from the ceiling. The fire alarm went off in the morning on Monday which seemed to be a test but startled us. The pool changing room is open with no cubicles, so no privacy when trying to change.

Good value for short break

Liked: Good mattress, large room, hotel was clean, food in bar was excellent and reasonably priced
Disliked: Heavyweight duvet and bad pillows meant no sleep 1st night. Swimming pool very small, poor decor and too much chlorineIt was not possible for residents to get a drink after bar closing time, night porter refused this - this service has never been refused in other hotels I've stayed in.

Liked: The rooms were large, the staff were pleasant, and the breakfast was good, though limited vegetarian options.There is a supermarket nearby which is convenient.
Disliked: On arrival at approx 11:45am we (a couple) were told we could not check in til 12 noon, so we decided to walk over to the nearby stores. We entered the lift which had a broken mirror consisting of 2 very large cracks that had been sellotaped over.We were allocated a family room (421) with a double bed, large single bed (with a hole in the side of the base), and a standard single bed. One area of the carpet in the room smelt of stale urine, we told the man covering for reception, who told us we would be moved to another room. We returned to our room and waited, after 30 minutes of not hearing from reception, we returned to reception and were moved to room 414. The room was of the same size as 421 but with 1 less bed giving us more room (1 x double & 1 x large single).The carpets in the communal hallway of the 4th floor were very marked & bleach stained with dirt/dust on the skirting boards., the doors were notably scuffed, in general decor on that floor looked a little tired.On check in the receptionist confirmed breakfast was included for the 3 mornings. However, on arrival for breakfast on the last morning we were told that breakfast was not included. We explained the receptionist confirmed breakfast was included and had given out room number for the previous 2 mornings with no issue. The staff said we could continue with breakfast and after 5 minutes or so we were told that all was okay.There hotel was noisy, there was parties and the disco on the ground floor could still be heard on the 4th floor until past 2am. Also there was noise (possibly from the lift mechanism).
