Worst stay I’ve ever had...

Liked: The location is the ONLY good thing about this property. It’s right on the service road and close to the airport for those that need that access.
Disliked: I had to rush to San Antonio for a family emergency & booked this hotel the first night we left the hospital. Upon check-in we were given our key to the 2nd floor room. We were not told there wasn't an elevator, so we dragged our bags to our room. Upon entering the room, I saw dirty q-tips on the floor by the bed, the sink was dirty as well as the bed. I called the front desk & he changed our room to a downstairs location. We enter the second room & there was an opened Gatorade on the night stand, 2 in the fridge & the bed looked as if someone had laid it it. I call the front desk again & the guy comes to see. We then go back to the front desk & he he looks up more empty rooms. The 3rd & 4th room didn't have a working fridge which we needed to store the foo, the sink was dirty as well as the bed spread. He checked for a 5th room & this time the fridge was dirty & had some leftover item (to which the employee removed) as well as the sink & tub was dirty. At this point I just told him to bring me the cleaner & I'd clean it because we were exhausted & needed to rest after driving 4 hours, spending the whole day at the hospital with my sister & then comforting my nephews. I asked for the manager the next morning & was told they were not there, but would be after 10am. After 10am they still were not there. I checked (called) throughout the day & they were never there. We were to check out on Wednesday to travel back home. While I was up getting packed around 5am, I got a call that my sister had coded & I needed to rush to the hospital. We stayed there all day & she passed away that evening. I sent my daughters to retrieve our belongings before checkout because after calling & explaining to the hotel staff what I was going through they told be check out was at 11, but they'd give us an extra hour.

Liked: The location is good.
Disliked: The doors that you use to enter that are supposed to need key access were broken. The room had hair in the bathroom and the floor was very dirty. The comforter had holes, and the breakfast area was basically non existent. The pool was dirty and the bed was very hard.

Liked: Room was clean and comfortable. Price was okay.
Disliked: When I stayed at the Surestay Best Western in Brownsville, they provided a free bottle of water the first night. At this location, if I wanted to buy water, I needed to pay $2.00 per bottle.
