We stayed one night as...

Liked: Large historic building, very impressive features, but decorated in a modern way.Although it wasn’t a cold November, a wood burning stove was lit in the dining room, giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. We had a delicious meal, perfectly cooked. The owner was very friendly and helpful, as soon as we had checked in, he took our luggage to our room without being asked. My husband is disabled but likes to do things himself even if he struggles so this was a huge help. All in all, a lovely overnight stay, I would recommend highly.

Liked: We received an upgrade on arrival, not expected so very pleasant.Lovely room, large and light and fabulous bathroom.Very good evening meal with roaring fire in background.Pleasant breakfast.

Disliked: Lack of communal areas to sit as other areas locked in the hotel , on arrival no one at reception then find out restaurant closed due to short staff .

Liked: The room itself was pleasant and comfortable.Lovely outdoor area and plenty parking.
Disliked: Staff service was awful. Waited 15 minutes for someone to appear to be seated. Waited longer for our starters, was never told the specials. Main meal took around 25 mins to appear for one main to be off and clearly been sat under a heat source for too long. Drinks we asked for half way through the meal arrived after we were finished to then have to stand around in the hall way untill somone showed up so we could pay. Very rude young lady with absolutely zero interest in doing her job.
