Wasted money, left and went...

Disliked: We arrived at the hotel about 9 pm and I was told while checking in that I had booked smoking rooms. I however did not but was told we were lucky that it wasn't as busy so they could change them to non smoking, at that point all seemed ok. We were give the key to our rooms. The overall look and feel of the hotel was older and run down. I have stayed at plenty of older hotel and as long as they feel and are clean I have no problem. This one however was different it had a odd smell which could have been partly to the wax warmer on the counter and partly just a musty smell. Went into our room only for this to not get any better only worse. Our room was not clean and still had an odd smell in it as well. Bathroom was dirty with left over used toiletries. The desk was dirty and one of the chairs next to it was stained, stains on the sheets, beside table falling apart, big stain on the carpet next to the bed, coffee pot supplies had not been restocked just leftovers from whoever was in there last, and just over all did not feel clean. I did not feel comfortable staying in this hotel with my family. I asked for some kind of refund and all they would offer was another room, but at this point seeing the two rooms we had already been given were not clean along with other factors, staying was not an option. I understand a non-refundable when you book the room but showing up to a place that was not as it seemed I felt it fair to get something back for the lack of cleanliness and overall price for these rooms. But no such luck wasted money spent here. I had contacted customer service to see about getting something resolved and was told that the property manager said that the rooms that were prepared for us were clean and ready but that because we had to switch rooms at the last minute that is was partially our fault. Just be very aware when booking this hotel. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel about an hour away and having to pay for another 2 nights for 2 rooms.

Disliked: The rules they have about things on the bed and not making the bed up the floors where very dirty the refrigerator was very dirty the sink was broken and the bed sheets had burn holes!!
