Liked: Very friendly reception by Manager, Rishi. Nice & clean rooms with good finishing level & housekeeping. Calm area, nearby nice beaches & downtown Monterey.
Disliked: Some improvement potential related to breakfast… Breakfast served at reception area, then each guest brings to the room. In the room, however, limited seating space (chairs, table), especially travelling with 2 kids. Propose to ensure 4 seats and bit bigger table (it may help business travellers as well).

Fabulous location but breakfast let's...

Liked: Slap bang in the middle of Pacific Grove, so you have all of the wildlife highlights of the area on your doorstep. A short walk to the cliff top paths to see Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Sea Birds, and Whales if you're lucky! Deer walk within yards of the hotel entrance, and if you're lucky and patient, hummingbirds come for a drink from the flowers that are all around the hotel.We came for Golf and all the courses are within a 25 minute drive too.The rooms are very comfortable and quiet, we had an upgraded upstairs room with balcony which provided a spot to sit out and soak in the surroundings.
Disliked: Breakfast doesn't start till 8 and is basic and served from the reception, which is small and cramped with only 2 seats. If you need to be up and away early, then plan to eat elsewhere as the staff won't open early for you. Be prepared to carry your breakfast up to 100 yards back to your room too. This let the stay down after we had extended our stay a day after great first impressions

Liked: We enjoyed staying at Sunset Inn, the room was spacious and super cleanThe location is perfect The staff is very friendly and welcomingThe breakfast is not advertised but they have toast, yogurt, fruits. The coffee is better than at some restaurants!Highly recommended. 5 stars
