Liked: Location ok for John day but travel further and do not stay in this town.
Disliked: Firstly we were given a kingsize room that was the last room right next to the road, road vehicle noise was loud, the room was spacious but very unwelcoming and had an eerie feel to it, so we moved to a double instead. Better location away from the road, but it was dirty and the air conditioning didn't work, it only pumped out hot hot air very noisily. It has all the usual amenities to be class a 3 * establishment but the proprietors need to have a thorough clean of not just the rooms, the pavements, the reception. Very disorganised and filthy. I've stayed at old inns before, the age really has no impact on whther the place is clean, this inn had a very unusual smell too. Do not stay here.

In desperate need of refurbishment

Liked: The motel is conveniently located at one end of the town center. The staff at the lobby was friendly. The family room is very spacious, and could fit 5 people very well, beds are of good quality, recently renewed.The overall cleanliness of the room was OK, but see comments below.
Disliked: I experienced many, many motels now, and I am ready to accept basic conditions, but the Sunset Inn does not qualify for a passing grade; I am sorry.The whole building is in very, very bad, run-down conditions: wall painting is crumbling, and the outside rugs are in indecent conditions, super dirty and super smelly. The room interior has been renewed in some parts, but the rest is not suitable: the room door and the windows are not closing properly (and as guests we did not feel safe) and are not at all sound/dust/odors proof. The sofa is indecent, for its conditions.The bed linens were worn-out and, although it was clear that they had been washed, although by a non-professional cleaner, they were full of someone else's hair, which is 100% unacceptable: we all slept on top of the bedcovers.
