Serviceable for a single night.

Liked: Interesting old house, good breakfast, slightly quickly host.
Disliked: Bed a bit small. Must drive to town center… unfortunately for us it was Guy Fawlkes Day and celebration in town made it difficult to cross bridge into town… but that’s a rare instance.

Liked: This Hotel is immaculately clean, very comfortable, location on very good and breakfast is excellent indeed.
Disliked: shower cubicle is small but understandable but is nice and hot.

Everything you would want or...

Liked: The set up is superb, lovely comfy bed, nice room and a huge high quality breakfast. Everything one would want. Plus plenty of hot water, excellent shower and nice common lounge. Good location and parking. A very good stay.
Disliked: Nothing really.

Unfortunately marred by an unpleasant...

Liked: The room was very clean, though quite small. The breakfast was good with a large range of options, all nicely made and well presented.There is a nice lounge area which is comfortable and I was able to wait here for 45 minutes after check out
Disliked: The manager was unfriendly and brusque. I accidentally damaged a key by putting it in the wrong lock as I could not find the night entrance door in the dark (the reception door is locked at night so you have to use a different entrance to the daytime entrance and it was unclear to me where this was). I had to contact the manager at 11 pm to let me in and he was not at all happy. He treated me as though I was drunk, when I had had no alcohol whatsoever. I immediately agreed to pay for a replacement key and profusely apologised but he continued to make me feel bad the rest of my stay, which was totally unnecessary.Part of the shower fell off when I got in (I stuck it back on) and the shower tray wasn’t draining properly.The room facilities were limited (no iron, hair dryer or coffee that I could see). Overall a pleasant stay

Liked: Charming little hotel, well situated, not far from the city centre yet located in a quiet residential area.Clean, mixing both traditional and modern features.Lots of useful informations were provided at the check in (dining options and things to do in the area).The room we got allocated in was more than spacious, clean and well equiped.
Disliked: We were not given any option for our breakfast time, we were basically told that we would be served at 8:00 (no choice given), that somehow surprised me but as we are flexible and easy going I did not bother to question it.Last tiny thing the gentleman that looked after us during our stay was not particularly smiling or even friendly, I felt it was a shame as it would have made a huge difference for a global experience.However and overall we were pleased with our stay.
