Disliked: The room had a bad odor smell had animal hair in the room the sheet and the covers had blood stains on them

I got what I paid...

Disliked: Room floor was dirty, and the room had a smell. There was construction on that floor, so maybe that impacted it, but it was just a little grody.

Liked: The price was the best I could find that was an actual hotel, rather than a shared dorm in a hostel. So price is definitely the best thing about this place. The bed was comfortable and it has a massive fridge, a microwave and coffee machine. There is a Denny's right across the road, so that's great for breakfast (and 24 hours).You can walk to this hotel from the nearest DART train station (Market Centre) in about 15 minutes, but it's not all got sidewalk. The previous station (Southwest Medical District/Parkland) is about 25 minutes walk and that route all has sidewalk. But if you are not in a car I'd say book somewhere in the city centre instead.
Disliked: The shower pressure is really high, but the shower head has very small nozzles, so it felt like 100 needles hitting me Not nice at all. The room was generally clean, but there was chewing gum on the side of the cabinet by the bed, and hairs in the bathroom, and a small dead cockroach. The swimming pool has a lot of bugs and bits floating in it, and a lot of broken tiles and cracks. The area around the pool is not nice. It feels like they have a pool to say they have a pool, but it's not really one you'd want to use. I went in briefly but they had a rope with floats across the width so you can't even swim laps.The hotel is not near anything, so I'd say only stay here if you have your own car and you just need somewhere to sleep before heading on.There were no Do Not Disturb signs for the door handle, so I put the desk chair just inside the room when I went out. Housekeeping still went into the room (twice) but all they did was fold the existing towels. On the day before I left, maintenance staff wanted to come in to replace the curtains (looked like they were doing the whole floor). I said I was in the room and they'd need to come back after I leave. An hour later another guy (assuming he was the first guy's boss) came and knocked again and said they need to get in to replace the curtains. I said they need to schedule maintenance work for when rooms are unoccupied and that I was checking out the next morning, so come back after that. However, I then felt I couldn't leave the room to go out to get dinner or they'd go in there while I was out.

Great value based on location!

Liked: Great value based on location; close to restaurants, museums & shopping centers.
Disliked: Smaller than expected for King Sized Bedroom; could have used extra pillows.

Lesson learned

Disliked: Very outdated, was under construction and could smell paint the entire time, room had a full size fridge in it and took up to much room bed sheets were not clean there was trash from previous guest left in room. Bathtub needs resurfaced and very unsatisfied.
