This is the worst hotel that I have stayed in. I drove four hours to Duluth to attend a concert. Therefore, I intended to stay in Duluth overnight. I checked into the hotel before the concert. As soon as I got on the third floor, I noticed an odor. It was not too bad. However, when I went to my room the odor was unbearable. It smelled as if the occupant before us did everything but die in the hotel room. I turned the air on to try to air out the smell. I left to go to the concert. When I got back from the concert and went back to the room, the odor was worse than it was before. At that point, I made the decision to not even stay at that hotel. I went downstairs, checked out, and drove four more hours back home after the event. The smell was so unbearable that I was not going to deal with it all night. This was the worst hotel room I've ever been in. I am very disappointed with the fact that the hotel does not take more pride in having cleaner living conditions for their guests. I am also disappointed that I wasted my time checking in to the hotel and $80 of my income on a hotel room that I did not even use. Worst hotel experience ever. There is nothing positive to say about my experience here. When someone pays for a reservation, they should not have to walk into an environment like the one that this hotel has.

I booked online for two rooms two months ago. Upon check in, I was only registered for one room according to the hotel staff (even though I had a confirmation email saying otherwise). I asked for another room anywhere in the hotel but was told they were completely booked; the next day, though, I was told that was false and we could have been given our second room. Original front desk employee was not helpful in sorting out my situation with me.
Disliked: Toilet had little to no water pressure; shower curtain didn't stay all the way closed; kitchen dishes were dirty; carpet not clean; trash underneath the beds; front desk attendant not helpful.

Good enough for what we...
Liked: It was where we needed and at the price we needed, and that's where the positives pretty much stop.
Disliked: Zero amenities at the front desk. The room was Spartan, but not clean. There was hair matted to shower wall and shower curtain. Other indicators that it was not cleaned properly, or maybe at all. And there was a rude young man in the lobby at check-in attempting to garner the attention of the lady behind the counter. It was not clear, but it appeared that he was an employee. She for her part was competent and courteous. There was not good noise insulation, and we could hear people in the hall and in their rooms. We had a lovely view of McDonald's and its dumpsters.
