Clean, quiet and comfy!
Liked: One of our favorite spots to stop on our travels. Love the pool for the kids and the jacuzzi for me!
Disliked: It's located a bit off I5/Freeway but walking distance to other needs.

Nice short stay while passing...
Liked: I like the Shakespearian theme. It is classic older building but well maintained.
Disliked: Not much. Could use more lighting in the hallway.

Just what we wanted.
Liked: Fun decorations and lively staff. Lovely setting.
Disliked: The street in front is a little noisy at night. Surprised because it’s the main downtown street, not a business or frontage road. Next time we will ask for a room at the back of the building!

Stayed here before this visit...
Liked: Nice clean hotel. I requested room on top floor and was quiet. I've stayed here before and will stay again. Convenient short walk to gift shops, plays. Beautiful colors in the fall. Grocery store across the street. Wish I would have brought a bathing suit
Disliked: Stratford is great as it is

Passable
Liked: Pet-friendly, staff was nice as well. Easy check-in and check-out.
Disliked: Two queen beds- both were sinking in the middle and had to sleep all the way to the side. Bathroom didn't have a fan, which explained some mold.

All things considered, it's very...
Liked: The staff at all levels was excellent! Positive, welcoming and informative. I was surprised by the showers -- open front, humid and sloppy. Maybe more of a new customer"warning" is merited? Parking was very good. I wasn't there long enough to need to use the Safeway across the street but it is VERY convenient. All in all it was a great place to stay except for the messy shower. In good weather it is a reasonable and apparently safe walk to the OSF grounds. The television remote in my room was useless. The cheap remote wasn't self explanatory and there were no instructions in the room about how to use them, and I was too tired to bug the front desk for instructions. I'm not a great fan of TV's so this wasn't a make or break issue for me. I'm a "senior citizen" so next time I'm going to ask about ADA compliant rooms before I make reservations. Please notice I said there will be a next time!
Disliked: More notice about the showers.

The Stratford Inn has always...
Liked: I have stayed there before a couple of times -- always excellent and comfortable. (I wish I'd had time to enjoy the pool and hot tub on this visit.) The location on the main road leading into Ashland makes it easy to find, and was perfect for my meeting just a few blocks in the other direction. With the supermarket right across the street, it's easy to pick up snacks and save a little money (so you can splurge on dinners). I've stayed there before when attending plays, and it's easy to walk or drive to the theater, with some nice restaurants along the way. I was impressed by the breakfast offerings (and by the staff who monitored the food/supplies/cleanup).
Disliked: I couldn't figure out whether I could turn off the light in the coffee and microwave nook -- it probably is a safety feature, but some of us like to sleep in dark rooms.
