Liked: Room and breakfast both very good. Location excellent.
Disliked: Development of a fitness facility.

Overall a very pleasant stay...

Liked: Check in was straight forward. We had a comfortable, quiet and well heated room. Bathroom was also of a high standard. Dinner in the evening was excellent although the dining room was poorly lit to the extent that it was difficult to read the menu and see what the food looked like. Breakfast was standard fare and not particularly exciting but some freshly cooked items were available.
Disliked: There was inadequate lighting in the dining room and the buffet breakfast was very ordinary, Plates were not warmed. The staff were always polite and helpful but were not always readily available because their duties were spread over several rooms.

Not worth the money.

Liked: The location was good and view from the window was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel was shabby and needs completely refurbishing. Awkward to get to rooms going up and down stairs with no lifts. I wanted room service one evening, no answer on the phone and when I went to find out why I was told nobody covers reception in the evening due to staff shortage, thank goodness there wasn't an emergency.

Liked: Stayed in garden view room its very Very small room, shower did not work very well and heating not good...great building and great location lovely walks along the stroud canal, staff were all friendly and helpful, meals were very good

Comfortable Countryside stay

Liked: Lovely stay as made to feel welcome. Very comfortable bed and room had nice touches. Peaceful environment in beautiful surroundings. Liked the fact the hotel is aspiring to be sustainable. Would definitely stay again.
