Good
Disliked: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment during my stay, however the hotel did offer a complimentary breakfast to compensate for this.

Liked: Excellent value for money. We had a room in the main building. A grand old building with high ceilings and large windows. Lovely and warm with lots of hot water for showering. The continental breakfast was an unexpected bonus. Very good welcome from staff.

You could probably find better
Liked: The room was spacious and clean.
Disliked: It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open and we therefore had to arrange a taxi to take us somewhere for dinner. The taxi didn't show up so we ended up having to drive. The bar area was open but very cold and all run by the lady on reception, so I felt for her having to do everything!

It was not great, but...
Disliked: The bed sheets were dirty and I asked them to change them. The quilt was full of hair as well, probably didn’t change it from the previous resident. The bathroom was not that clean, especially the shower was blocked. Also, because it is an old hotel, you can hear other residents from other rooms.

May be a good wedding...
Liked: Good location, charming historic building, very friendly and helpful staff.
Disliked: A bit noisy from the nearby road - even in a room at the back of the house (due to single-glazed windows). Although the rooms have central heating (a radiator), the heating is turned off at night. In winter the temperature in the room drops fairly rapidly, again, due to single-glazed windows! Since the supplied blanket is not very warm, it can be somewhat chilly at night. Also, only very limited continental breakfast was provided - perhaps because the hotel's restaurant (and its kitchen) was redecorated during my stay there. No other facilities are available, e.g. a gym or a jacuzzi. Obviously, this is mostly a wedding venue.
