Superb
Liked: The staff were friendly and my room was comfortable and quiet.
Disliked: The shower was over the bath. The sides of the bath were a little high for me to step in, and there were no grab bars on the walls. I did not feel comfortable. A rubber bath mat might have helped.

Somewhat disappointing
Liked: Comfy bedBreakfast was a much better experience than the evening meal - food was good and the waitress understood the concept of customer service.Beer was of decent quality - unlike many places it appeared that the pipes had been cleanedPlenty of car parking available
Disliked: Checkin experience was worful - directed to the back door of the property round the outside, only to have to work our way back through the building (with luggage) to find someone to check us in. Frankly, it appeared that it was the last thing she wanted to do, and she made this very clear - I think we may have been interrupting something important 'on her phone'.The evening dining experience was dire - one lad trying to manage the bar and 'restaurant' as well as singing along to most of the tunes that were blasting out in both spaces (different ones at that!) The food was mediocre, and an almost complete lack of soft furnishings made the whole space very echo-ey.

I would say abandoned sums...
Liked: The location was nice and the building from the rear was a nice. The staff were helpful and pleasantThe breakfast was very nice but limited options and limited options for drinks.
Disliked: The Hotel was more focused on the pub and restaurant trade rather than the hotel side. I dont think the owners know what they want the building to be and that shows in its presentation. There is a large add on building at the front of the main hotel that looks like it was for functions but now seems disused and so makes front of the hotel seem neglegeted with weeds and fag ends well distributed around there as well as huge wooden industrial cable reels abandoned by the property. (looks like they were for outside tables for the customers or something but they just look like they are abandoned). The front is stated as the entry for the hotel but looks like that was abondoned years ago but not updated. The main reception is abandoned and you have to goto the bar to get help. You are then handed a key for your room with a generic office plastic key fob, it looks super cheap. The bedrrom doors have had latch locks fitted as apposed to their orgional mortis locks. The orgional door locks are a lot more in keeping with the hotel. The rooms have been redecorated and this is ok on the whole but again a bit cheap.
