Great place to stay -...

Liked: It was a little weird checking in only over the phone when there was only one other car in the parking lot. The room was very clean & very comfortable. When I came back later in the evening there were lots of cars & I felt a little less isolated. It was a great value & I would definitely come back.
Disliked: A few more water bottles, or 2 bigger bottles.

A decent place to stay,...

Liked: The owner's concept of trying to make this old strip motel into a "theme" motel around old early-20th century film stars is interesting. The room was fine for what it is (a renovated old strip motel). The drive-in movie place next door has 4 screens, and the owner has arranged for guests to have free access to any of the movies being shown there, consistent with the theme. (We did not partake, since they were all Halloween-oriented horror movies being shown, in which we have no interest.)
Disliked: There was a problem with communication so that when we arrived we did not have the necessary information about which room was for us and how to get the key. Fortunately, the owner arrived within about 15 minutes (the front office was not manned) and gave us the information. The price was surprisingly high for a mostly-renovated old strip motel.
